Strategic development for school modernization
Strategic development for school modernization
#1.1 SELFIE / Self-reflection on effective learning by encouraging the use of innovative educational technologies
#1.2 School modernization plan
With this program we aim to accompany schools in the process of identifying how technologies support or can support the processes of designing, teaching, learning and assessing students in school.
At the same time, through SELFIE, we create the infrastructure to design and operationalize a long-term strategic plan for the development of high-quality (digital) education at the school level, tailored to the real needs of their stakeholders.
Each school's plan will be aligned with the European Commission's strategy for Education which supports the effort to improve and modernise education systems in Europe.
The team will objectively analyze, in an anonymized way and through evaluation, the level of digitization at which they are, with the aim of setting priorities for increasing the quality of education, putting the pupil at the center of all actions taken.
The team will set out its short, medium and long-term school modernization strategy, aimed at narrowing the existing gap between pupils' skills and the demand for schooling and academics, as well as the hyper-digitalized labour market.
SELFIE representatives in schools will become more accountable and willing to contribute to meeting local training needs aligned to the CEE strategy in order to make the skilled workforce competitive in productivity, quality and innovation.
The team will set up community activation initiatives to build partnerships aimed at developing digital and soft skills, upskilling and reskilling, and empowering lifelong learning.
The team will have the capacity to apply SELFIE, on a regular basis, to constantly measure the impact of strategic initiatives implemented at school level.
The team will contribute to mapping local digitization needs and national priorities for improving and modernizing the education system that promotes equity, school inclusion and social cohesion.

These 6 elements of a school are considered relevant to the modernization of education through digital pedagogy.
This conceptual model can form the basis for collective reflection, creative dialogue and strategic planning. It can also be applied to collect examples of good practices and initiate school visits between schools in the cluster and then compare these practices and systematize collaboration.
A school is a collaborative environment where social activities undertaken by students, teachers and other participants take place; and their activities shape their character and transform their culture, values, practices and other specific characteristics. This approach impacts on methodological choices at school level. The difference can be made by the practices implemented and not by the beliefs or paradigms with which people operate.
